What Florida licenses
- Licensing agency
- Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA)
- License types we list
- Assisted Living Facility
- Small homes
- Florida licenses small and large homes under the same Assisted Living Facility license; we label those with 6 or fewer beds as small homes.
- Memory care
- AHCA lists "Memory Care" when the facility reports it as a special program. Florida has no separate memory care license here, so a facility without it is shown as not reported, not as "no".
How Florida publishes inspections
AHCA publishes, for every assisted living facility, how many deficiencies its inspectors cited in each of the state's violation classes over the last five years, plus complaints, sanctions, fines and any active emergency action, and posts the inspection reports. What assisted living is
A place to live with meals, help with bathing, dressing and medicines, and someone on hand day and night. It isn’t a nursing home: there’s no round-the-clock nursing. Find nursing homes →
Small homes
Many states license small homes, often a house with 2 to 6 residents, under their own names (adult family home, family care home). We list them with the larger ones and label each as a small home with its bed count.
The state’s safety record
Where a state publishes its inspection findings, we show them in the state’s own words and scale, with the period and source. We don’t score, rank or sort homes by them.
By county
Counted by the home’s address. Each link opens the homes near a ZIP code in that county.
