PlanScout research

PlanScout Research

Two kinds of work live here. Our own studies count what is in Medicare’s public data. Research in Aging is where we explain what new studies on aging and care say, in plain words.

PlanScout Research: our own data

We count what is in Medicare’s own files. You may quote and chart these numbers if you link to the page.

New data studies come out each quarter.

Research in Aging: what new studies say

Each month we read new studies on aging and care. A person on our team checks each one. We write what it found in our own words and link to the source.

Monthly roundups

The first roundup comes out after our review team approves it.

Our rules for research

  • We cite studies. We don’t reprint them.
  • We only use studies from journals that check work before they print it.
  • We show the kind of study and how many people were in it.
  • No one pays us to cover a study. There are no paid links here.
  • This is not medical advice. Studies describe groups of people, not you. Talk with your doctor or care team before you change care.
  • Our mission is to help improve quality of life for people on Medicare and the families who help them. We have not measured yet whether PlanScout does that.

Media questions: press page. How we review pages: editorial standards.
