Does Medicare cover a CPAP machine?

Yes. Part B helps pay for a CPAP (a breathing machine for sleep apnea) and its masks and tubes.

What will you pay?

With Original Medicare: You pay 20% of the Medicare-approved amount after the yearly Part B deductible ($283 in 2026).

With a Medicare Advantage plan: Medicare Advantage plans must cover it too, but your costs and rules can differ. Check your plan. Compare plans near you.

What are the rules?

  • First you get a 12-week trial.
  • To keep it, your doctor must see you and note that it helps you.
  • Use a supplier that takes Medicare. Ask if they accept the Medicare price.
