Every applicant gives their National Producer Number (NPN) and the states they are licensed in. A PlanScout reviewer checks that record before an agent is listed. Applications are reviewed by a person, not approved automatically.
Families reach an agent only by choosing to — by requesting a call themselves. PlanScout never sells or auto-dials your information, and an agent contacts you only after you give express consent.
PlanScout is free for families and free for agents. There are no lead fees and no membership cost. PlanScout currently earns nothing — not from insurers, not from agents, not from referrals. If that ever changes, we will say so plainly.
Your application is stored for review and your email, phone, and NPN are never shown publicly. Submitting an application does not create an active listing — an agent appears in the directory only after a reviewer approves and lists them.
