Mask types

  • A full-face mask covers your nose and mouth.[1]
  • A nasal mask covers only your nose. Nasal pillows sit just inside your nostrils and are the smallest type.[1],[2]

Humidifiers

  • Many machines have a built-in heated water tub that adds moisture to the air.[3],[4]
  • Some machines come with a heated hose as standard.[4]
  • The ResMed AirMini travel machine uses a waterless humidifier instead of a tub.[5]

Cleaning

  • The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says most masks and hoses can be cleaned with only mild soap and water.[6]
  • Follow the cleaning steps in your machine's manual.[6]
  • React Health says using a SoClean cleaner with its Luna machines voids the warranty.[7]
